Things on My Mind

The tea is made and in my cup. Sitting here sipping tea with lots of things on my mind. There are the grandchildren and the things to make them for Christmas presents. The grandchilren's parents and things for them for Christmas. I have been busy sewing and crocheting and knitting and felting. Praying everything will turn out and be of some use to those who receive the particular articles.
Puppies are there on my mind too as they laze around the kitchen by the wood heater. We have only three of the border collie/catahoula crosses left. All three are females. It would be nice to sell them so we could have some grocery and Christmas money. We are trusting the LORD to provide income as we go about doing what we can do. In our minds selling the puppies would help out. The LORD may have different plans though and seeing as we are not clairvoyant we will just have to wait on Him and see His plans unfold.
Our children, all of which are not exactly children anymore, are always on my mind~~their own walks with the LORD. It is always interesting to their papa and I how they perceive life and the ones with children how they are teaching their little ones. When I think of "our" children there is also included in that thought their spouses and girlfriends(boyfriends) I am so glad that the LORD watches over all of them. I sure can't!
Christmas baking is there in the not too far reaches of my mind too. How much to do and which cookies, breads, cakes, pies etc. do I make? I am not even sure yet how many are going to be here for Christmas dinner and throughout the holiday season ~~Just have to do the old Brownie motto and "Be Prepared"
Really like our outside Christmas lights we put up yesterday afternoon. they look so pretty with the snow reflecting back the colours. Think I still like red and blue Christmas lights the best of all combinations.
Christmas has all my favourite colours ~~red, blue, and green~~must be a childhood thing ~~good memories~~good colours~~.
As we go about our daily chores and prepare to go to church this evening (church is in the evening out here) my mind wanders back over the past few months. Trying, challenging, exciting never a dull moment months and this scripture comes to me~~
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the LORD. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the LORD is at hand.

Peace on the Ranch

I actually learned how to play a new card game with our grandchildren yesterday. It is fun to go to town for a day~~found a lovely wool sweater for felting and Laurel-Anne gave me an old ribbed T-shirt to try the skirt tutorial out on for little Cara. My new experiment of the day! Should be fun and can hardly wait to see how it turns out.
Life is quiet here so far this morning. It is amazing how four puppies are soooo much quieter than 15 puppies or even 6 puppies. Wow! The fellow who bought one of our pups (the last male) last night was really excited about him. Thought he was just exactly what he was hoping for ~~a gentle giant of a border collie cross. Has to go all the way to somewhere around Ft. St. John in the terrible road conditions. He said it was not very nice from Prince George to Quesnel.
Today as far as my little mind can think and predict will be an ordinary day just baking sewing cooking cleaning and more firewood.Of course there will be the little skirt that will be new to do. Onward ho for Christmas present making.

Town Day

A snowstorm was not in our day plan so praying for safety as we travel this windy mountainous road to go to town. We have one buyer for the last of our male pups. Praise the LORD for that ~~now we can keep the phone hooked up. We love our life style but really this style of living would not be recommended to the faint-hearted. Definitely not a get rich quick plan.
Sadness over losing my favourite pup to the river ice yesterday and our youngest son phoned to tell us he had just buried his faithful dog. Figures a mean old cow got him anyways vet said no hope as everything was shutting down. Poor Rocky and poor little Slipper.
Now it is time to make some breakfast and put the elastic in the waistband of a couple of skirts I have sewn for a young friend. It will be a long day today.
"As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he fourisheth.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto chidren's children;"
Psalm103:15-17
Maybe this scripture could apply to doggies too! God Bless you as you go about your day.
